Putin, Macron to discuss political contacts, economy
MOSCOW, May 26 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron plan to discuss bilateral political contacts and economic issues at a meeting in Paris on May 29, Putin’s aide Yury Ushakov told reporters Friday.
“We assume that during a bilateral meeting the presidents will touch upon the state of political contacts, which the Russian side is not satisfied with: many traditional mechanisms of intergovernmental have been rolled up,” he said.
An intergovernmental commission and a cooperation council on security issues are not functioning, only a council on economic, financial, industry and trade issues is in function, he said.
Russia is not satisfied with the state of trade and economic relations with France, as trade between the countries fell by 50% over past three years, Ushakov also said.
